Are you a little strapped for cash or just not really wanting to spend a whole lot of money, but looking to go out on a really fun date night? Dating can cost you a lot of money but it doesn’t have to be that way! There are so many date ideas out there that you can go on and barely spend a dime if ANY.

When Tate and I were just a couple of newlyweds starting out, we didn’t have that much to spend on anything extra, especially dates. With Tate also being in the military our time together can be very limited, so we try to make the most of it when we can.

That being said we turned off Netflix and started to get creative, and I’m going to share with you what we have come up with throughout the years!

Here are the 15 Affordable Cute Date Ideas Under $10

15 affordable cute date night ideas

1. Ride your bike to a local shop

I love this idea! Especially with the warmer weather coming.

If you live close to downtown or a little square, you can take your bikes and grab some ice cream and then explore other parts of the city you’ve never been to before!

2. Picnic in the park

Spring is here and this is a perfect idea for a cheap date!

Prepare some sandwiches and snacks then make your way to your local park and have a picnic. Dont forget a blanket to sit on!

3. Go berry picking

Strawberry picking is a summer staple and the best part about it’s very inexpensive!

You can spend half the day strawberry picking and then go back home and make chocolate-covered strawberries. Get fancy with it and add some good toppings. If you want to keep costs down, look for toppings at the dollar store.

Enjoy your treats with a movie night in!

4. Find a local festival or event

Go on Facebook and search “events near me”. Hundreds of different events will pop up and a lot of them will be free.

Pick some of your favorites that you want to attend. My favorites are always ones with food trucks. When you are there, you each have $5 dollars to try whatever food you would like.

5. Go to the beach

I know this one may be hard for some who don’t live near a beach, but generally everywhere has a spot where you can go and be by the water.

Bring some chairs, a blanket, and a few snacks and drink!

6. Go to a $5 movie

It is extremely standard these days for movie theaters to offer $5 dollar movies one or two days of the week.

For how expensive theaters are these days, this is a great cheap date idea option to get out there and see some movies you and your date have been wanting to see without breaking the bank.

7. Go play a sport

Playing tennis gives you a free activity while working out!

It will really bring out your competitive side and give you memories that will last a long time.

Dont stop with tennis! There are so many different sports you can play together. For some examples: Beach volleyball, baseball/softball, golf, etc.

8. Go to your local grocery store and get your favorite treats then go eat it under the stars.

Drive to the local grocery store or gas station and pick out some of your favorite treats.

Come back to the house and set blankets out on the lawn or balcony. Watch the stars while eating your treats and talk about your life with each other.

9. Have a Bonfire

This one is probably Me and Tates favorite. You don’t even have to leave your house!

Initially, this does cost more than $10. You can find little fire pits for pretty cheap, but then you’ll have it for a long time and it’ll be worth the money I promise.

If you live in an apartment, most have little pits by the pool for your own use!

10. Find a live music event

Cities around the country offer concerts in the park. Make yourselves dinner before and bring some of your favorite drinks in a cooler.

You can also check out your local breweries, and restaurants that have an outdoor area usually, they occasionally have live music on certain days of the week.

Dont feel obligated to get anything to eat. Just order a couple of drinks, and enjoy the music!

11. Dollar store challenge

I have 2 ideas for you with this one!

  1. Take a trip to the dollar store and see if you can make an activity with what you find! Think about it, you will be able to buy 10 things… that’s a lot of things to choose!
  2. Each of you have $5 to spend on the other. Shop around separately and see what each of you come up with for the other!

12. Go for a hike

Go for a hike!

There is an app called AllTrails that I like to use to find all kinds of different trails in our area.

13. Go for a walk in the park

This one would be nice to do in the evenings so it’s not so crowded and hot. Hold hands and just talk and walk. Just enjoy each other’s company!

14. Diy project

Head to Goodwill and search through their home section. Or if you already have something, even better!

See if you can find something that you can redo to give it new life again. Not only will you have a fun new piece of decor but you also will have a piece to remember this date from.

15. Watch the sunset

Affordable cute date ideas

Head to the local lake, riverside, or beach and watch the sunset together.

Talk about life, your future, and how much you love each other. Take this time to just be still, and awe in God’s beauty.
