Budget-Friendly Nursery

Welcome to Baby Forrest’s nursery!

It still feels so surreal even typing that out & putting together this blog post – the past nine months have truly flown by and I can’t believe Forrest has already arrived!

Going into creating this nursery I had a clear vision of what I wanted. I wanted to keep things as simple and gender-neutral as possible because I want to be able to reuse a lot of these things for our next baby.

I also wanted to keep things as inexpensive as possible – knowing that this isn’t going to be his room forever and that he won’t remember it, but at the same time, I wanted to create a peaceful space for me to enjoy.

A beautiful nursery doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Especially considering all the other things you will have to purchase for your little human.

Some things I bought new, some things I DIYed, and some things I already had lying around the house!

I am so proud of & happy with how it turned out! it’s officially my favorite room in our home!

Starting off with the crib – this will most likely be your most expensive piece for the nursery. If you can’t find one second handed I would highly advise you to consider buying a convertible one. This is a good investment because it will grow with your child and you won’t have to buy them another bed for a while!

When it came to the dresser I ended up finding this one on Facebook marketplace, and just painting it. I find that this is the most budget-friendly way to go about it. You can also look at places like GoodWill, and yard sales!

Another awesome thing about this budget-friendly idea is that you can customize it exactly how you want it to go with your nursery theme!

You can also replace the nobs if they aren’t your style! You can find adorable ones at Hobby Lobby!

Paint I used

Now, I’m sure we all know how expensive chairs and gliders are for nurseries. It can be a little bit ridiculous in my opinion. Yes, they are very nice and comfy, and if you can find one marked down or second-hand, then I’m sure they are more than worth it.

I however couldn’t justify the prices and had a hard time finding one second-handed.

That’s when I came up with the idea of DIYing an old rocking chair that had been passed down to me. Mind you, it took some elbow grease to make this all shiny and new again, but it turned out great in the end and I’m so happy with how it came out!

I used the same paint from the dresser

And I found the cushions on Amazon. They had so many options and great colors to choose from!
